The Oili Construction crew on November 25, having just poured and finished the foundation which you can see behind them.
The Oili crew working hard! Once the pouring process starts, it is critical to maintain a steady pace to assure the structural integrity of the finished concrete foundation..
Josh and Ben Oili seem pretty happy with how things were going.
The Oili crew started the foundation pour very early on November 25. The first concrete is poured here in the northeast corner, but in this photo they have already progressed to the northwest corner.
Julio from Tridipanel Systems inspects the rebar and wall tie-downs on November 24, in preparation for the foundation pour the following day. The color coded electrical and data conduits, along with the red and blue PEX plumbing pipes, are visible everywhere. Five foot high rebar pairs extend upward from the rebar cages in the footings. These will serve as tie-downs for the SCIP walls which will start going up soon.
The view above is from November 19. The foundation looks like a maze of spaghetti! At this point, we have already passed our plumbing and electrical inspections. Ben Oili and Gavin from the Oili Construction crew are adding rebar wall tie-downs.
On November 9, Robert and Ernie Mattos inspect the electrical layout work done so far in the foundation.
On November 5, Hubert van Dijk (on the left) is preparing to lay in the PEX plumbing system, and the Oili Construction crew start to place the rebar cages into the footings.
The view above from November 4 shows progress in laying electrical conduits in the foundation.
On November 3, the electrical crew from Mattos Electric lays conduit while the foundation crew from Oili Construction continues compaction work behind them.
Progress on the foundation forms, shown here on October 29.
The view above shows the state of form work on October 13. The area in the center front will be the main seating area in the living room.
In the picture above, taken on October 2, trenches have been dug in the compacted gravel base for the foundation footers. Forms are just starting to go up for the footers on the east side of the house.
This photo, from September 29, shows the Oili team laying out the foundation on the compacted gravel base. The top of the wooden guide rail corresponds to the main floor level. Nails placed in the guide rails at key points define the triangular grid upon which the house plan is based, and from which all measurements are derived.
This view shows compaction work on the gravel base as it took place on September 22.
